Heat Your Home Safely

According to the CDC (2014, 2008)

"If you plan to use a wood stove, fireplace, or space heater, be extremely careful."  The CDC recommends which of the following?
a) "Do not place a space heater within 3 feet of anything that may catch on fire, such as drapes, furniture, or bedding. Never cover your space heater."
b) "Place the heater on a level, hard and nonflammable surface (such as ceramic tile floor), not on rugs or carpets or near bedding or drapes." "Turn the space heater off if you leave the area."**
c) "Protect yourself from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning by installing a battery-operated CO detector and never using generators, grills, camp stoves, or similar devices inside the house, in basements, in garages, or near windows."d) "Do not burn paper in a fireplace."
